The Hierophant

The Hierophant :  This is the 6th card in the major arcana.

Often regarded as the spiritual and moral compass of the Tarot.  The appearance of this card in a spread may signify a moral lesson to be learned.

As the keeper of moral law, the Hierophant may represent a spiritual guide, teacher or another who is wise and able to give good advice.


Any advice that they do give, is likely to follow the more traditional route, than modern radical or novel routes.

A marriage or a desire to get married is also indicated when this card appears, it may also relate to some legal issues or official documentation that needs your attention.  Whether you are exchanging contracts on a new home, starting a new job or been considering making a will, this card is suggesting that you deal with these issues sooner rather than later.

When this card falls reversed it could signify a reluctance to conform to the expectations of others, to do so could make you feel trapped and unable to develop.  You have a strong urge to be your own person and forge your own routes through life.

The upside of being true to your own ideas is a double edged sword. On one hand, you get to make the rules, on the other hand, you are responsible for the outcomes.  You can not blame the system if things don't go according to your plan.

There may also be a time of confusion. Some life event may cause you to have a crisis of faith or question your own abilities.  This could lead you to act out of character.
