Obviously, when reading and interpreting the tarot, one must take into account the various inter-relationships of the cards. Identifying which cards stand in support or opposition of an indicated event, will give greater clarification of possible options available to the Enquirer. 

Court Cards - The King's

The King of Wands :

May represent a man aged 35  or older.

May have red/fair hair, hazel or grey eyes.

Positive Traits :  Generally a traditionalist, fair and courageous.

Negative Traits : Can be a little too autocratic, prone to prejudice and  intolerance.



Potential Meaning : You may feel a need to develop some level of psychological balance which will help you to  gain wisdom along the way. Ideals and practicalities will merge, enabling you to act with a sense of integrity.

Court Cards - The Queen's

The Queen of Wands :

May  represent a woman of any age from 18 years onward.

May have red/fair hair, brown or blue eyes.

Positive Traits : Exhibits a warm, practical and homely demeanor yet is able to maintain a level of independence.

Negative Traits :  Tendency to be overbearing, a domineering 'Queen Bee' and can be vindictive.


Potential Meaning : Avoid being over reliant on others. Your tendency to be shy or introverted may well be slowing you down, restricting your progress and potential.

The Knight of Wands :

May  represent a young man less than 40 years old.

May have fair hair with grey or blue eyes.

Positive Traits : Strong vitality, vigorous, athletic, can have an unpredictable nature.

Negative Traits :  Can be argumentative, have a tendency to violence and jealousy.


Potential Meaning :There may be some dramatic changes on the horizon; a move of home,  possibility of travel overseas.

Court Cards- The Pages

The Page of Wands :

May represent a younger person or child of either gender.

 May have brown hair, blue or hazel eyes

Positive Traits : Have a tendency to be loyal, enthusiastic,and hard working.

Negative Traits :  Can be spoilt, impatient and hyperactive.

Potential Meaning :  Influx of messages and communications, carefully consider your next move, check that you have all the facts before making that final decision. A possible reunion with an old friend or lover.

Overview of Court cards

A standard Tarot deck contains four Court cards per suit, Page, Knight, Queen and King.

 They can often represent specific people in the Querant's life, the Querant themselves, life events and /or personality traits.

As steam, it could represent emotional turmoil and a tendency to over react. It governs the suit of Cups, which are good containers when handle correctly, but if knocked off balance, can readily spill their contents.

Earth           This is the element that relates to all things material, work, business, money and wealth. Success or failure will depend upon how strong the foundation is. Did you start on firm ground or soft? It is easy to see why when you consider where the worlds economic wealth hails from. Whether it is precious metals, gems, gas or oil, all need to be removed from the Earth.

Now that we have covered all 22 cards of the Major Arcana, it is time to consider the 56 remaining cards known as the Minor Arcana.

The minor arcana is divided into four suits, in much the same way as a simple deck of playing cards, only the names of the suits will change and there are four Court Cards per tarot suit not three as with playing cards:

THE  WORLD:  This is the 22nd and final card in the major arcana.

It signifies the end of one era and the start of another.

There is a strong possibility that you are about to receive your Heart's desire. Whatever goal you have been working towards could deliver the long awaited rewards giving you the recognition and sense of achievement you deserve.

THE  SUN: This is the 20th card in the major arcana.


Whenever this card shows its most welcome side in a reading, all I can hear are the words to 'Here comes the Sun' written by George Harrison from the 1969 Beatles album  'Abbey Road.'

THE  STAR:  This is the 18th card in the major arcana.


Hope springs eternal when this card hits your spread and it is no accident that it follows The Tower's destructive influence, bringing with it a sense of Hope, Generosity and Serenity.

THE  TOWER:  This is the 17th card in the major arcana.


This card suggests that there is about to be a time of major upheaval.  A period of reflection and re-evaluation that will bring about new directions and opportunities.

6th or Brow Chakra : Also known as the 'Third Eye' is situated just above the center of the brow ridge, between the eyes.  Deals with areas surrounding Intuition, Understanding , Mysticism and Seeking of the Truth.

5th or Throat Chakra. Obviously situated in the throat region.  Deals with issues surrounding the throat, respiration system, upper digestive tract and thyroid gland.

The Heart or 4th Chakra - Situated at the centre of the chest. Deals with issues surrounding the Physical and Emotional Heart.

Solar Plexus or  3rd Chakra :  Situated below the ribs, just above the navel. Deals with WISDOM, CLARITY of THOUGHT and SELF-ESTEEM.

3rd CHAKRA  TRAITS:

Balanced  : Confident, Optimistic, Confident and Good Humoured.

Un-balanced : Inferiority, Pessimistic, Sarcastic, Bad Humoured and Prone to Over Thinking. 

This Chakra also governs the Abdominal Organs.
(Liver, Spleen, Pancreas, Stomach and Small Intestines.)
So any imbalance in this Chakra, may present with symptoms in the Abdominal Region.

She is the 'Keeper of Secrets' and Guardian of our Intuitive and Unconscious realms.
